Bring on the Old!!

{L-R} Aaron, Me, Sarah, and Alida (birthday girl)

Well firstly by the title you can probably see that I have completed the New Testament. I have read it about 5 times in the last 4 months and this week i am beginning on the Old Testament. This last week was really good-we had a final test for all 27 books-i had to say the key verse, main idea, reason written, when written, historical background, and a a distinguishing character--so for the test i just talked for just over an hour and said all these things for each book. I am really glad that I did this--and i just continue to pray and i want all these things that i learn to stay with me--i didn't just memorize them for the test but i want to really continue to remember them and go back to them and be able to recall them--that they will be something that will last.
Then on Friday we had Old Testament overview and I have started on Genesis--read it, did paragraph titles, colored it and then on monday i will start charting. This is the biggest book that I have ever done. I have 40 charts-and each chart takes about an hour. The biggest book i have done this far was 26 charts i believe--so this will be a really busy week but totally doable if i stick to my schedule.
This past week has been really fun here--we have a new DTS that came just after Christmas, School of dance, and a Greek student so there are lots of people everywhere and its so much fun. There has been a lot of pranking happening--so i will just say that people know that i scare easily and i always have to be ready for somebody to pop out of my closet or my bed--and lots of screaming--but its lots of fun :)
Last night a lot of watched blindside and then went for a late Taco Bell run-and hung out in downtown Kalispell--which is the happening place--not!! It is deserted by 10pm. But I just really have been learning how to have fun even amongst all the work.
A cool story that i want to share with you is last week i tried out a new church called the "Dwelling Place" it is a smaller church, maybe about 100 people. And it has a really nice community feel to it. I really enjoyed the worship and they had a 10 minute meet and greet and people right away new that we were new and came up and talked to me and the people i was with. I really love that-when people go out of their way to say hi and make a point to welcome the new people. But anyways then the sermon started and in the middle of the sermon the pastor looked at me and was like you are new? and i was like yes, and then he asked for my name--and i told him Breanne. Then he was like i have a word for you-and what he shared was exactly what i need to hear and what i was feeling. Basically to summarize what he said was that I am a really giving person that likes to serve others and meet the needs others but then i have a hard time receiving blessings from others and that i should willingly receive from others but more importantly from Jesus and listen to him and listen to him speak and believe the things he says about me. That just brought me so much joy and I walked away felling really blessed and i like how the pastor was so obedient to the Lord in doing this and just building people up and blessing people. It was just so encouraging.
God has just been so good to me and i am continually being so blessed by Him and his promises and i just feel overwhelmed and just so loved. I am learning to really believe in my heart how much God loves me, how he has a purpose for me. He chose me, anointed me, and has a plan for my life. I am sinner saved by grace and that overwhelms me so much. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 it says
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore i will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses so that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
Some prayer requests :
-The weather has been really bad last night and today and the roads are really scary-i have been hearing lots of ambulances and today there was a helicopter airlifting somebody off the mountain and it is just a bit scary. So if you could just continue to pray for protection and safety for everyone i would really appreciate that
-Just for this week and charting-it is going to be really busy and if you could pray that i would get the hang out charting old testament books-because it will be quite different then the new.
-For good health. last week i was sick in bed for about 3 days, with a fever and the flu. Just that others and i would continue to get better.
-That i would wake up refreshed every morning and that i will be willing and ready to learn and that I would be willing to accept and listen to whatever God wants to speak to me and that I would act on what he calls me to do.

Thanks so much everyone for your prayers and support. Please continue to email me prayers requests and updates on your life.
Love-bre
